Dr Hishmi is a distinguished speaker and Lead Author for the Asia-Pacific Region at Biodiversity Assessment of Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). He is among the notable alumni of the International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University, the Hague, the Netherlands, EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland, Forest Research Institute, (FRI) Dehradun, and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India.
